7 Day Kidepo, Murchison Falls and Gorilla Trekking Safari

Meet your Kenzi Safaris representative at Entebbe International Airport for your scheduled domestic flight to Kidepo Valley National Park.

Enjoy beautiful aerial views of Uganda's countryside as you fly towards the remote northeastern part of the country.

On arrival at the airstrip, meet your safari driver-guide and transfer to your lodge for check-in and lunch.

Later in the afternoon, head out for your first game drive through Kidepo Valley National Park.

Explore the Narus Valley, one of the park's important wildlife areas, while looking for buffaloes, elephants, Jackson's hartebeests, jackals and other wildlife.

Predators such as lions may also be encountered, although wildlife sightings depend on their natural movements.

Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, head out for another game drive through the beautiful landscapes of Kidepo Valley National Park.

Explore the open savannah, valleys and surrounding mountain scenery while searching for wildlife.

The drive provides beautiful views towards the hills and mountain ranges surrounding Kidepo and Narus valleys.

Return to your lodge for lunch and some time to relax.

Later, drive towards the Kidepo Valley and visit the area's hot springs.

The northern section of the park offers a different landscape from the wildlife-rich Narus Valley and provides opportunities to look for birds and other wildlife while enjoying the remote scenery near Uganda's northern border.

Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin the long road journey towards Murchison Falls National Park.

Travel through northern Uganda with a stop for lunch along the way.

Although this is primarily a transfer day, the journey provides an opportunity to see Uganda's changing countryside as you travel from the remote landscapes of Kidepo towards the Nile region.

Arrive at Murchison Falls National Park later in the day and continue to your lodge.

Check in and spend the evening relaxing after the journey.

After breakfast, transfer to the landing site for a boat safari along the River Nile towards Murchison Falls.

Cruise upstream while looking for hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water. Elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and other animals may also be seen along the riverbanks.

The Nile is also an excellent place for birding, with numerous water and woodland species found along the river.

As you approach the falls, enjoy views of the Nile as it moves towards the narrow rocky gorge of Murchison Falls.

Depending on park arrangements and trail accessibility, your itinerary may include an experience around the falls before meeting your driver-guide.

Return to your lodge for lunch and some time to relax.

Later in the afternoon, head out for an evening game drive.

Explore the park's savannah while searching for giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hartebeests and other wildlife. Lions and other predators may also be encountered.

Return to your lodge before nightfall for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, enjoy another wildlife drive in Murchison Falls National Park before transferring to the airstrip for your scheduled domestic flight towards southwestern Uganda.

Enjoy aerial views as you fly across the country.

On arrival, meet your driver-guide and continue by road towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

The final transfer and lodge location will depend on the gorilla trekking sector confirmed on your permit.

Arrive at your lodge and spend the remainder of the day relaxing and preparing for your gorilla trek.

Important Gorilla Sector Note

Bwindi has different gorilla trekking sectors, and accommodation should be selected according to the sector shown on your confirmed gorilla permit.

Kenzi Safaris will therefore arrange your lodge, airstrip transfer and travel route around your confirmed trekking sector.

Today is one of the major highlights of your Uganda safari — mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After an early breakfast, collect your packed lunch and transfer to your designated park headquarters.

Meet the ranger guides for a briefing about the trekking experience and the guidelines to follow while in the forest.

You will then enter Bwindi's rainforest in search of your assigned habituated mountain gorilla family.

The length of the trek varies depending on the location of the gorillas, terrain and forest conditions.

Once the gorillas are located, spend the permitted viewing time observing them in their natural habitat.

Watch them feed, rest, groom, play and interact while your ranger guide provides more information about the family and their behaviour.

After your gorilla encounter, trek back to the starting point and meet your driver-guide for the transfer to your lodge.

Spend the evening relaxing after your day in the forest.

Gorilla Trekking Note

Gorilla trekking involves walking through natural rainforest and mountainous terrain, and the experience can be physically demanding.

A reasonable level of fitness is recommended.

Local porters are available to carry backpacks and provide assistance along more challenging sections of the trail.

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin your journey towards Kampala or Entebbe.

Travel through the beautiful landscapes of southwestern Uganda with lunch along the way.

Stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for photographs, refreshments and an opportunity to browse locally made crafts.

Continue towards Entebbe.

Depending on your international flight schedule, your Kenzi Safaris driver-guide will transfer you to your hotel or Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
